The root cause of man-made climate change is our insatiable appetite for fossil fuel.

In Australia, we have taken active steps to determine and address the carbon footprint left behind by the activities of Investec’s Australian operations.

To begin this process, we are aiming to get a better understanding of Investec’s carbon footprint, and have engaged the services of Carbon Systems Australia Pty Ltd - a group that partners with businesses and communities to develop innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

Our aim is to work with Carbon Systems to measure and, in 2011, offset Investec Australia’s entire footprint.

Green Team: Practical initiatives to engage staff and raise awareness

We have established a Green Team in Australia whose responsibility is to raise awareness of the environmental impact of our operations, and to actively implement initiatives that reduce our corporate carbon footprint.
