Ensuring we have a strong, diverse and capable workforce, that is dedicated to a common goal and to servicing our clients, is critical to the sustainability of our business.

The people dimension of our business is multi-faceted and reflects what we are doing internally amongst our employees, as well as what we are doing externally within the societies which we operate in.

Internal

Our people activities involve dedicated divisions such as those of Human Resources and Organisation Development which serve to supplement the ongoing people focus of our individual business units.

Our Human Resources teams are mandated to attract, develop and retain talent who can perform in a manner consistent with our culture and values.

Organisation Development teams act to strengthen the culture of the business, ensure its values are lived, build capability and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

External

Our external people activities involve the work of our Social Investment divisions, which embrace a strong developmental focus in pursuing projects to make a difference in the lives of local communities. We have placed strong historical emphasis on education and entrepreneurship as key areas of active social investment focus, while also supporting other causes, albeit more passively.
